Position: Senior Investment Performance Analyst

AEGON USA Realty Advisors, an AEGON company, is a leader in the
worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years. AEGON is an international
pension, insurance and financial services organization. Realty
Advisors is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately
3500 individuals are employed. It is here where AEGON USA is headquartered.
This position will be with US AEGON Asset Management, the organization
which oversees asset management for many of AEGON USA's operating
companies as well as third party clients. Asset classes include
public bonds, private placements, commercial mortgage loans, derivatives
and alternative investments. Significant funds are invested in
nearly every fixed income and real estate sector. The AEGON Asset
Management organization has operations in Europe, the United States
and Asia. Primary offices in the United States are located in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Louisville, Kentucky.
There are currently two positions open at this level. One position
is located in Cedar Rapids, IA. One position can be filled in
Cedar Rapids, IA or Los Angeles, CA.
Our Performance Measurement and Attribution Group is responsible
for calculating, reconciling, and analyzing the performance of
AEGON holdings. This group is looking for a Senior Investment
Analyst to contribute in the Securities Operations Department.
The successful candidate will assist our team in measuring and
analyzing the investment performance for a wide array of investment
vehicles under the company management.
Job Summary:
Analyze and report on performance results, attribution,
and related data and define relevant information for asset classes
including public and private fixed income, commercial mortgage
loans, equities and alternative investments
Analyze and interpret data for purpose of determining contributing
factors to performance results and comparison to benchmarks for
users who must make economic or business decisions
Apply advanced analytical and financial product knowledge
and judgment to complex activities
Complete customer requests with excellent service levels
Ensure the integrity of data used for performance reporting
and proactively lead or work with cross-functional teams to remedy
discrepancies
Evaluate and analyze calculations to ensure accuracy in
reported numbers
Work effectively with other departments or divisions to
ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company
Initiate and lead implementation of improvements to efficiency,
accuracy, controls, and customer service levels in relation to
assigned work, projects or other process enhancements
Lead or participate on project teams
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Finance or related field
Advanced degree and appropriate professional certifications
are strongly preferred (i.e. CFA, CIPM, etc.)
Five to seven years business experience, including at least
four years experience in the institutional securities industry
with performance measurement and/or attribution experience
Thorough knowledge of fixed income products , investment
processes, and databases/trading systems
Demonstrated knowledge of investment performance calculations,
analysis, and GIPS concepts
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
with a variety of audiences including investment professionals
and upper management
Ability to independently prioritize and work on multiple
projects and assignments simultaneously
Process improvement experience preferred
Very strong customer service skills, with a focus on continuous
improvement
Highly developed analytical, problem recognition and resolution,
organizational, and communication skills with strong attention
to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated, proactive, and works well under pressure
Advanced skills in Excel
Working knowledge of desktop tools such as MS Word, Access,
and Project
