Position: Lead Investment Analyst - Performance
Measurement - AEGON - Cedar Rapids, IA
AEGON USA Realty Advisors, an AEGON company, is a leader in the
worldwide insurance industry for over 40 years. AEGON is an international
pension, insurance and financial services organization. Realty
Advisors is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where approximately
3500 individuals are employed. It is here where AEGON USA is headquartered.
This position will be with US AEGON Asset Management, the organization
which oversees asset management for many of AEGON USA's operating
companies as well as third party clients. Asset classes include
public bonds, private placements, commercial mortgage loans, derivatives
and alternative investments. Significant funds are invested in
nearly every fixed income and real estate sector. The AEGON Asset
Management organization has operations in Europe, the United States
and Asia. Primary offices in the United States are located in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Louisville, Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for applying analytical and financial product
knowledge and judgment to complex activities.
- Analyzes performance data and extracts and defines relevant
information.
- Interprets data for purpose of determining contributing factors
to performance results and comparison to benchmarks.
- Interprets performance results, data, and issues for users
who must make economic or business decisions.
- Utilizes a thorough understanding of financial products to
proactively develop performance reporting and analysis.
- Leads or participates on project teams regarding various aspects
of the performance measurement processes.
- Lead or participate on project to build an attribution process
within the team.
- Works effectively with other departments or divisions to ensure
business issues are resolved for the success of the company.
- May supervise others.
Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree, preferably in Finance or related field. An
advanced degree and appropriate professional certifications is
preferred (i.e. CFA, etc.). 4+ years experience in the institutional
securities industry with working knowledge of fixed income products
and investment processes. Leadership experience preferred. 3+
years of business and /or technical analysis experience. Process
improvement experience is preferred. Highly developed analytical,
problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are
required. Thorough understanding of databases and/or investment
trading systems and processes. Working knowledge of how data flows
within the Investments Division is preferred. Ability to work
independently and on several assignments simultaneously is required.
Working knowledge of desktop tools such as MS Word, Excel, and
Project are preferred.
