SSgA - Performance Measurement Manager - Boston, MA

Job Description
This individual will assist performance analysts, operations
personnel, portfolio managers and client reporting in regards
to all the details of the performance calculation process and
auditing procedures.
Train and educate others on performance measurement best
practices and methodology as well as the internal performance
measurement process.
Be able to quickly identify and resolve issues relating
to performance measurement and attribution.
Recommends different types of improvements and analysis
to modify the performance measurement process.
Creates and modifies processes and procedures to protect
and improve the integrity of the performance measurement and reporting
process.
Able to effectively identify, develop, and manage projects
to successful completion.
Acts as a resource person and representative for the performance
group for both internal and external clients.
Be a key resource with the GIPS Verification project and
the conversion to a new daily performance system.
Be the project lead for the successful conversion for the
Multi Asset Class Solutions (MACS) performance to a new daily
performance system (DST - Hiperformance) as well as, to our new
in house client reporting system (CRS)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The individual will have direct, end to end, project management
responsibilities
Supervises a team of performance analysts (3 or 4), of
whom are responsible for producing performance and attribution
at the asset class level
Utilizes team building skills to provide oversight, training,
development, and guidance of team of performance analysts.
Demonstrates managerial leadership that maximizes every
individual's unique skills, knowledge and behavior.
Responsible for monitoring and evaluation of employee performance,
promotion recommendations, and career planning.
Monitor Key deliverables and performance metrics and instill
accountability across the team at both the Fund and the Client
level.
Qualifications
5-7 years in a management capacity are required.
7-10 years of experience working in a performance and daily
accounting environment required. Advanced knowledge of Portfolio
Performance Measurement and Standards
Possess strong communication and time management skills
MBA and/or CFA candidates strongly preferred.
Strong Understanding for asset allocation strategies and
custom benchmark configurations
Full working knowledge of the GIPS - Global Investment
Performance Standards and the verification process helpful.
CIPM candidates are encouraged.
Strong understanding of the investment markets.
Knowledge of Portia, PMIS, Hi-Performance, PnA, Bloomberg,
and FactSet preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of Operations and Custody required,
including Corporate Actions.
Expert knowledge of Performance, Attribution, Characteristics,
Benchmark Composition, and Asset Allocation.
Advanced computer systems knowledge.
Highly developed and demonstrated problem solving, analytical
& numeric skills essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Effective project management/participation skills.
Be able to foster strong relationships with other departments
and global offices.
Strong attention to detail required.
Working knowledge for all asset classes preferred, REIT,
Emerging Markets, Development Markets, Fixed income, Asset Allocation
as well as hedge funds
