Position: Alberta Investment Management
Company - Senior Business Analyst - Performance Measurement
Edmonton, Canada
Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), Edmonton
- You will be responsible for leading several projects and initiatives
in enhancing the capacities of the Performance team. You will
improve the process and data analytic functionalities of the performance
department and review options for performance measurement engines,
many of which are medium and long-term projects.
To be successful in this position you will require a solid understanding
of financial markets, knowledge as well as experience dealing
with complex investment instruments, strong analytical, problem-solving
and facilitation skills and the ability to establish effective
working relationships. Your excellent communication and the ability
to work in a dynamic team environment are essential.
Qualifications:
• University degree or related certifications supplemented
by 3 to 5 years of experience in Investment Operations / Analytics,
preferably those in or related to performance measurement.
• Strong project management and business analysis skills.
Experienced in developing business requirements, selecting and
communicating with external vendors, implementing, and testing
system solutions.
•Expertise in implementing or working very closely with fixed
income and equity attribution. Experienced in processing derivatives
into the attribution / analytic system to produce proper analytic
outputs.
• Solid understanding of data architecture and processes
of performance measurement, as well as core operation functions
like pricing and portfolio accounting. Experience with Sylvan
Performance engine is an asset.
•Sound understanding of financial markets, security analysis,
and investment strategies.
• Experience in implementing GIPS compliance is a definite
asset.
NOTE: Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening,
which includes a credit bureau and a criminal record investigation,
the results of which must be acceptable to AIMCo.
