Position: Investment Statistics Specialist
Manning & Napier Advisors, Inc.
Summary:
As an Investment Statistics Specialist you will be responsible
for computing and maintaining various levels of information used
in the firm's marketing and sales efforts. This position requires
the ability to find data, analyze it, and draw conclusions from
it. An analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to work
under tight deadlines and comfort with basic statistical concepts
and software systems is necessary for this position. Working with
investment performance and portfolio spreadsheets is a major component
of the Investment Statistics Specialist responsibilities. This
position reports to the Sr. Marketing Liaison.
Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly performance, holdings and other statistics
for the firm's products and investment benchmarks including
analysis of the underlying factors that drive these figures.
- Obtain and maintain an expertise in Global Investment Performance
Standards (GIPS) as detailed by the CFA Institute.
- Provide data, holdings, and statistical backup for various
marketing materials.
- Create new composites as necessary.
- Interpret, verify and analyze client and composite performance
results.
- Conduct comparative analysis of other firms and the investment
industry.
- Lead the completion of and/or help with various firm audits
- work with internal and external audit team to provide required
materials, formulate/explain responses to auditors' questions,
and implement/monitor any recommended changes.
- Produce annual monitoring reports for select clients.
- Work with departments across the firm to complete performance-related
and/or statistical-oriented projects.
- Maintain records of performance, holdings, and statistics.
- Maintain policies and procedures for the responsibilities
associated with this position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, business, economics
or similar with a record of academic achievement.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and function in a deadline
oriented environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (functions,
macros, pivot tables etc.).
- Knowledge and comfort in definition and calculation of statistical
concepts.
- Performance measurement experience in the financial services
industry preferred.
- CIPM designation a plus. The Investment Statistics Specialist
is expected to work towards obtaining the CIPM designation once
hired..
